So aside from the craze about the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S yesterday, there was another cool feature I discovered via Twitter. I was intrigued by Abe’s tweet that GCash can be used to buy Prepaid for SMART and SUN.

So there, I checked my GCASH and tried.
GCASH is an electronic money, a product by Globe which has been around for years now. The GCASH App was (re)-launched a year ago. After the re-launch, they innovated a lot of other features like you can use GCASH to get an AMEX credit card. Read our article about “Credit card-less shopping with GCASH.” Early this year, the same group has partnered with Pag-Ibig Fund, paying your contribution can be done using GCASH. If you go to the GCASH website, you will also find out that you can use the same e-Money to pay for BIR, and NBI clearance. All of the services offered is in partnership with non-competing brand.
But to load the competitor is something! Something that is surprising but a welcome development. For people carrying multiple SIM-cards, you don’t need to go the sari-sari store or go to 7Eleven to load your Smart or Sun SIM cards!
I can’t just write about it without me trying it, haha! So, I posted in my Facebook looking for somebody who has Smart SIM.
A friend replied and then I dialed *143#. This is the classic way to access mobile self service by Globe. Then, I selected G-Cash, and selected Buy Load; you will have three choices – Globe or TM, Smart or Sun. Then you will be asked your GCASH 4-digit PIN, then the Prepaid Number. You can load P15, P30, P50, P100, P200 including ALL TEXT promo by Smart.
The result: Successfully loaded P15 credit to my friend’s Smart Prepaid SIM.
Now that is confirmed that Globe’s GCASH can transfer Prepaid credits to other networks, can the competing Smart’ Money do the same?
Now I wish Globe GCASH includes Smartbro in the menu, this will lessen the hassle for me everytime I load my SMART LTE prepaid. 🙂

Bakit kaya matagal papasok ung load using Gcash buy load pag sa other network like Smart Sun TNT, aabut ng mga 3 to 5 hours bago papasok ung load.
Actually may nakita akong magandang site kung saan pwede ka mag sun load, smart load at globe load. Iinput mo lang number mo tapos babayaran mo yung naconsume mong load thru credit card or paypal. Napaka convenient nito sakin. Eto yung site nila. http://www.loadmena.com/.
Actually i’m venturing now into loading station using Gcash. Kaloka ayaw magload sa 0943xxxxxxx number with SUN Call&Text Combo 10 di pwde daw prompt pa nya.. And ask sakin nung bumili na WIN 10 sna, eh wla nman ganun sa menu ng *143#.. I’m wondering what else is missing na service.. Ganda sana kc no need na magcarry ng maraming phone kc napakaconvinient na ng GCASH… Sana maupdate nila yung pinakabagong services ngayon ng other networks..

Meron akong Smart saka Globe line, sinubukan ko na ‘to. Effective naman. Actually mukhang pwede ka pa ngang magbenta ng load pag ganito eh no?
