TechLife Pad: P8,999 tablet for work, school & entertainment — First Impressions

Overview

In preparation for a comprehensive review, we have just recently obtained the widely anticipated TechLife Pad.

It is a tablet that is on the lower end of the price spectrum and is designed to meet the requirements for both educational and entertainment purposes.

In this post, we look closely into its features, performance, and overall value offer.

Display

The TechLife Pad features a fantastic 10.36-inch 2K display with a resolution of 1200×2000 pixels and a pixel density of 184 PPI. This combination provides a clear and detailed visual experience, whether you are streaming media, browsing the web, or making video calls. The 450 nits of brightness ensure usability even in brightly illuminated areas, increasing its versatility.

In the photo above, I used the tablet to check my technical analysis on Bitcoin. Using the tablet to view charts on dark them mode is very convenient.

In addition to its amazing visual output, the TechLife Pad includes quad stereo speakers. These speakers produce powerful and immersive audio, making them great for movie evenings and gaming sessions. The audio quality is excellent and robust, resulting in an enhanced multimedia experience that few tablets in this price range can rival.

Design

The TechLife Pad features an ultra-slim metal design that is 7.4 millimeters in thickness, combining aesthetic appeal with the capacity to be portable. A premium feel is achieved through its design, which is comprised of 90% aluminum and ABS plastic. This construction also ensures that it is durable. The tablet, which is offered in two different colors—Graphite Blue and Graphite Grey—has a refined appearance that is both contemporary and professional.

Storage

The 128GB of storage that comes standard with the TechLife Pad is more than plenty for my images, videos, and applications. Additionally, it is expandable with a microSD card up to 1 terabyte, which means that you will never run out of space.

While storage is expandable, the default 128GB might not be the best one for you. I encourage you to set your expectations. Just install the necessary apps that you need.

The tablet runs on pure Android 14, so you will have a clear experience that is free of bloatware and includes all of the most recent features.

Additional noteworthy features include a rear camera with 8 megapixels that is surprisingly competent for short pictures, a front camera with 5 megapixels that is ideal for video calls, and a fast charging capability of 10 watts over USB Type-C.
